Sexual violence is an act of a sexual nature that is committed without the free consent or assent of the victimized party. This study aims to determine the reception of students how they view sexual violence after watching a short film from the Ministry of Education and Culture entitled “Field Notes”, this study uses a constructivism paradigm with a qualitative approach. The method used in this research is audience reception analysis with Stuart Hall's encoding -decoding theory, Data is collected by conducting in-depth interviews with selected informants who meet the requirements of the required informant categories. The audiences in this study are students from universities. Based on the results of the study, three of the five informants were in the position of dominant hegemony, rejecting sexual violence without tolerance, while the other two were in the negotiation position, rejecting sexual violence but considering some things acceptable for their own reasons.
